Yvonne Lawrence

YVONNE LAWRENCE was born on June 10, 1951, to J.D. Manning and Annie Mae Miller of Marshall, Texas.

 She completed her education at Washington High School in Portland, Oregon. Yvonne was known for her caring and compassionate heart. She would give to anyone in need.

 The community loved her food, she would serve her neighborhood when she cooked. Whenever you saw her; she would be dressed to impress at all times.

 Yvonne was good at serving others. She was a caretaker of Mrs. Hart till the Lord brought her home.

 Her children were the light of her life. Carla says she would talk with her mom daily. Marcella would visit her mom daily. Her loving children were so proud of her; proud of her many accomplishments and growth over the years, and they shared them with her.

 Yvonne made a decision to get clean on April 14, 1995. She went to the Stay Clean treatment center.

 From there she united with Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon in 1995; under the leadership of Pastor Johnny Pack IV. She was the President of Usher Board 2 (The Gate Keeper) until her failing health prevented her from serving. She remained a faithful member Of the Ship until the Lord called her home.

 Yvonne has peacefully transitioned to eternal life to be with others who went before her.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Manning Sr., and Annie Mae Miller; brothers, J.D. Manning Jr., Zebedee Manning, and Archie Taylor; sisters, Leola McSwain and Mary Manning; uncles, Wesley Manning and Willie Manning; and stepmother, Mevelyn Manning.

 Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Stevie Lawrence Sr. of Portland, Oregon; sister, Surmentha Miller of Fort Worth, Texas, Sharon Dixon, Nadean Manning & Peggy Perkins of Marshall, Texas, and Linda Lewis of Carthage, Texas; brothers, Danny Manning and Percy Phillips of Marshall, Texas, Bruce Manning (Sally) of Alamogordo, New Mexico; daughters, Marcella Lockett (Brad) of Portland, Oregon, Carla Smalley, of Lewisville, Texas, LaTesha Lawrence-Caillier (Deidrick) of Portland, Oregon, Crystal Lawrence-Shammgod (God) of Dallas, Texas, Ebony Lawrence and Shawnda Johnson of Portland, Oregon; sons, Leroy T. Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Terrance Johnson of Dallas, Texas. Stephen Lawrence Johnson and Andre Lawrence of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Leonard Jr., Dakari, Darry "Fuda", Leroy Jr., Martiesha, Sanai, Andre Jr., Abrianna, Mylee, Mackenzee, Prince, Easton, Justice and Giselle; two great-grandchildren, Leonard and Carter; sister in-laws, Norine Hubbard, Jamie Turner (Larry) and Terrilynn Potts of Portland, Oregon; brother in-laws, Dwitt Lawrence III, Lorenzo Jackson and Brad Savage of Portland, Oregon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
