Willie James Lowe Jr. was born January 24, 1974, in Cairo, Illinois to Willie and Betty Lowe. Willie moved to Portland, Oregon in July of 1982 with his mother, brother and sister. Willie attended grade school at Meek and Humboldt Elementary, went to Junior High at Harriet Tubman Middle School and graduated from Grant High School. Willie loved all his siblings dearly Kenneth Duncan, Heavony Lowe, Kelsy Lowe and Azsia Lowe.
Willie worked for Oregon Episcopal School for many years and adored the team that he worked with as well as adoring the students he provided services to.
Willie has a passion for drawing, and he loved sports. Willie was admired not only by friend and family but also by all who worked with him (the past 4 1/2 years at Boon Appetite. He was also an avid music lover with one of his favorite’s songs being “Who Can I Run To” by Xscape. Willie was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and warm heart, and most of all his kind compassionate spirit.
We love you Willie you will truly be missed.
Willie was welcomed to the other side by his father, Willie James Lowe Sr.; grandmothers, Odell Duncan, and Betsy Nichols; uncles, Melvin Lowe, Charles Lowe, Calvin Lowe, Frank Duncan, Erik Duncan, Bobby Duncan; aunts, Gloria Lowe, Willene Ortiz, Eunice McClain, Sally Duncan Carlton McCgee, Ida Duncan, Vannor Avant Johnson, and Ester Duncan.
Left to mourn is Willie’s aunts, Patricia Duncan Young, Mary Duncan Yankey, Floretta Avant Simelton, Etta Duncan Kelley, Burnett Duncan, Rudy Lowe, Pamela Duncan; uncles, Lorenzo Duncan, Paul Kelly, Lee Nichlos, Rufus Young; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
