Todd Miyo Thomas, lovingly known as MT, was born on September 29, 1961, in Clovis, New Mexico. On July 2, 2025, God called him home in Portland, Oregon.
Miyo spent his early years in San Diego, California, where he attended Logan Elementary School and Memorial Jr. High. He later built a life in Portland, working in landscaping, a profession that reflected his care for beauty and detail.
Known for his impeccable style, Miyo always made sure his clothes were just right. He had a natural creativity and a gift for craftsmanship, especially in creating unique, handcrafted canes. Beyond his talents, Miyo carried a deep love for the book of Proverbs, which he treasured and knew by heart. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and those closest to him.
Miyo was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rev. Hicks of Albuquerque, NM; his uncle, Rev. Harold Hicks of Denver, CO; his father, Lewis Thomas; and his brothers, Larry Thomas, Tyran Thomas and Gabriel Anderson and two sisters, Everlena Thomas, Mary Thomas
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Eva Miner, and stepfather, Curtis Miner of San Diego, CA; his children, Mioshy Starr Thomas, Todd Thomas Jr., Todd Lee Ellis Thomas, Chavae Thomas, Tyren Thomas, Saveon Thomas, Chakarri Thomas, and Miyo Thomas; and his brothers and sisters, Donna Thomas, Torsha Thomas, Lynn Thomas, Ronnie Thomas, and Ronald Ward.
