Thomas Ray Reynolds, Jr. passed away on November 14, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Portland, Oregon following a brief illness. He was 78 years old. “Tommy” was born April 29, 1947 in Portland to Princess Senior Reynolds, and Thomas Reynolds, Sr.
Tommy’s early years were spent in Northeast Portland living with his parents and 3 siblings. He graduated from Grant High School with the class of 1965 where he met friends for life. He attended Allen Temple, AME Church with his family. After graduation, Tommy attended the University of Oregon. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam, earning the rank of E5. After completing his tour of duty in military service, he returned home to Portland, bought his dream car, a 1970 black on black Plymouth Cuda. He got married, went to work at Pitney Bowes as a field service representative, and launched his adult life. Through his work he was widely known around town because he routinely visited most post office locations and businesses needing service calls for their postage meters and mail systems. Customers and co-workers enjoyed his technical skill, can-do attitude, and sense of humor. After retirement, Tommy enjoyed meticulously cutting his lawn, hosting family BBQ’s, sports, fishing, playing pool, spending time with friends and of course tearing it up in Vegas.
Tommy is survived by his children, Debbie and Steven Reynolds (mom, Meraline Broadus, deceased), Laura and Isaac Reynolds (mom, Denise Christensen, Twisp, WA), and Tylor Reynolds (mom, Lorinda Geiszler, deceased), sisters Debra and Pam Reynolds, Normal, AL, and was predeceased by his parents Princess and Thomas Reynolds, Sr. and brother, Robert Reynolds, of Portland. Tommy leaves behind five beloved grandchildren including Justin Reynolds and Dray Austin, Isaiah and Julian Reynolds, and Princess Aubriella Reynolds, plus two great grandchildren, Freya and Felix Reynolds and his nieces, April and Alyssa McDaniel, and Danielle and Gabrielle Reynolds.
Tommy was a much loved character and his presence in the world will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Arrangements are by Terry Family Funeral Home with services planned for December 3, 2025, at Allen Temple at 11:00 a.m. and Willamette National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
