Theresa Reba Mozell White was born on December 14, 1966 in Portland, Oregon. For her proud parents, Ginger and Vastine White JR., she was the best Christmas blessing. Everyone in their family loved, adored and spoiled her rotten.
In Theresa’s earliest years, she attended Sabin Elementary, Beaumont Middle School, and Grant High School. Much of Theresa’s childhood was enjoyed at her grandparent’s, Reba and William Roper’s, as well as Mozell and Vastine White Sr.’s houses. In the 8th grade she moved in with her aunt and uncle, Deborah Roper and Kenny Riley. During this time living with auntie Debbie, Theresa met her high school sweetheart and first love, Seymon Lewis. Together they went on to have two children, Tinisha White Lewis and Alexander Lewis.
After high school, Theresa attended Beau Monde Academy receiving her license in hair design. She then went on to CNA training to become a caregiver, although she would spend most of her early adulthood staying home tending to her two young children.
Moving on in life, as Theresa prepared to welcome her youngest baby girl, Tiffany Carter, she was inspired to open her very own children’s clothing boutique, “Tiffany’s Buttons and Bows.” Theresa’s joy of being a mother would soon be matched by the joy of becoming a grandmother to her first grandchild, Deandre M. Bradley Jr., or DeeDee as she always affectionately called him.
Throughout Theresa’s life she was faced with many challenges, though she never strayed away from her faith in God, a seed planted in her at a very young age by her Aunt Cynthia Lambert. Theresa accepted Christ through baptism under the late Bishop W. G. Hardy Sr. at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ. No matter life’s circumstances, Theresa always made it a point to keep in touch with her loved ones. She was known to love family gatherings and get togethers, any time spent with her relatives was cherished by her. She enjoyed caring for others and wore her heart on her sleeve. She had a love for music and many favorite songs, “cuts”, as she would call them, although she never could remember the words. She enjoyed being outdoors while camping and fishing with her mother. Theresa loved all things fashion, home décor, and jewelry, especially if it was flashy. Theresa’s love for others extended to her little furry companion, Lincoln, whom stayed by her side as she transitioned from earth to glory.
Theresa will be remembered by her fun loving personality, contagious smile, her laughter that could light up any room and her ability to make everyone around her laugh as well. Her “I love you’s” and big hugs will remain in our hearts forever.
Theresa is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Reba Roper, and Mozell and Vastine White Sr.; her father, Vastine White Jr.; her mother, Ginger White; and sister, Geraldine Nicole.
Theresa is survived by her children, Tinisha White Lewis, Alexander Lewis, and Tiffany Carter; her siblings, Vastina White, Juanita Prentice, Jerry Prentice, and Vastine White III (Doug Lynch); her grandchildren, Deandre Bradley Jr., and Amari Lewis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as her long time partner, Robert Laday.
