Theresa Annette Ali was born March 11, 1962 to Joe Ali and Laura Green in Portland, Oregon; To both sets of parents she was their middle child. Theresa attended Martin Luther King Jr. and Gregory Heights Elementary Schools and graduated from Cleveland High School.
Theresa was employed by Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Health Sciences University; She held many jobs throughout her lifetime.
Despite her many health complications and challenges that she faced, she still continued to run her race boldly and gracefully.
In her early years of life, growing up, she enjoyed playing a host of sports with the neighborhood kids such as: football, softball, basketball and swimming. Later in life, when she could no longer engage in these sports, she watched them faithfully on TV. A few of her favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, The Seattle Sea Hawks and North Carolina Panthers, just to name a few. She also enjoyed watching the Olympics, the NBA playoffs, the Wimbledon and US open, and FIFA world cup series specials.
Her past time and hobbies included playing the slot machines, ordering and purchasing items on the home shopping network, traveling, getting her hair and nails done, braiding hair and watching TV. Her favorite TV shows were: Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, Perry Mason, NCIS, Criminal Minds, various western movies and talk shows. Her favorite movies of all time, were the Imitation of Life and the song of Bernadette.
Theresa was a very strong and independent woman; She was very straight forward and direct. If she were fond of you, she genuinely liked you and would do anything for you. However, if she was not to fond of you, she would not pretend and would definitely let it be known. She was a short woman in stature but packed a whole lot of punch! Although Theresa was a
no-nonsense kind of person, she had a heart of gold and she will forever be truly missed.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Joe Ali; mother, Laura Ali; brother, Joe Ali Jr., sisters: Barbara Chatfield and Lesia Ali.
Theresa leaves to cherish her memories: Son, Kristopher Penn and Daughter, Yasmine Moore; Brother, Anthony Ali; Sisters: Mary Jo Thomas, Vera Ali, Nedra Ali, God Children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Although Theresa was a mother of two, she was a mother to many others.
