I was born in Spokane, Washington. I was chosen as Miss Baby Spokane at age 2.. My mom, Jeanne Ross, divorced and eventually found and married her high school sweetheart, Jack Westfall, when I was 6. He legally adopted me when I was 49 ½ years old because he didn’t want to adopt an “old girl”.
I was blessed to give birth to two sons, Cory Hain in 1967 and Kelly Dodge in 1972. I was additionally blessed to adopt Kelly’s half-sister, Jen Bailey.
In 1979, I married Gordon V. Walker, Sr., a man of integrity, a warm smile and a caring heart. He brought monthly roses and four sons into our marriage. Gordon legally adopted Cory and Kelly when they were young adults in 1998.
I crossed over in 1975 from an allergic reaction to a pre-op shot. When advanced to the Other Side, I was given direction regarding my future and told to teach until it was my time to be called home. I founded Emanon Business Service in 1981 to guide new business owners to success. I retired in 2022 at the age of 80.
When our 7 children were self-sufficient adults, I was spiritually informed there was an ocean view lot advertised in our neighborhood newspaper. After we paid for the lot, it took us over 9 years, working weekends, to build Walker’s Wetreat as general contractors. When investors were allowed to change quiet residential neighborhoods into commercial weekend party houses, we opposed. This adventure brought us many wonderful and supportive friends in Lincoln City.
I am survived by my husband, Gordon Walker Sr., and in order of birth, children, Gordon Walker Jr., Cory Hain, Jennifer Bailey, Kelly Dodge, and grandchildren Alex Cain, Danny Casey-Hain, Carly Walker and Trevor Dodge. I am also survived by daughters-in-law, loved friends, neighbors and caretakers.
Writing my own obituary and requesting no funeral is best for those I love. I have returned to a beautiful pain-free home where I am reunited again with those (including animals) who crossed before me and where my soul is at peace.
