Steven Donald Williams transitioned on September 7, 2023, peacefully in the care of his sister Debra and brother-in-law Zelner home. Steve had lost the battle with chronic Illness. Steven was born on May 31st, 1955, the first born to James Williams Jr. and Norma (Williams) Hayes in Portland, OR. As a child Steven was a regular member and very involved in Apostolic Faith Sunday School. Later in his life Steve joined Community AME Zion Church and received the Lord. Steve would call out and ask his sister Debra to pray with him, he loved the Lord’s Prayer, and they would recite it together. Steven attended Boise Elementary during the integration era and was bussed out to various PPS Schools. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1973. After high school Steven attended Upward Bound in Corvallis, OR. Steven was a very proud US Marine, and it was one of the greatest times of his life. He also worked for many years and eventually retired from General Tool in Portland OR. Steven had a great love for baseball, and the New York Yankees was his favorite team and he also loved to play golf. Steven had a huge love for his dog Charlie. As a child he loved to play with his little army men, and he loved his cowboy boots and hat. Steven was preceded in death by his father James (1982), Mother Norma (2019) and his brother Paul Johnson (1985). Steven is survived by his son Jason Paul Williams and grandson Xavier Williams, daughters Marie and Betina Williams, Sister Debra Streeter, (Zelner) brother-in-law, Uncle William Hayes, Nieces Regina Warren (Damond Collier), Michelle Johnson Turner (Sean) Ronette Waters (Thabiti) Raelyn Harris (Maurice Robinson), Nephew Paul Johnson Jr. A host of family and friends that truly loved Steven! He will be truly missed!
