Stephenic Hall Obituary

Stephenic Cornell Hall was born on August 25, 1968 in Meadville, Mississippi, to Lonnie Woods and Diane Hall.  Stephenic, who was lovingly called Cornell, was always big in stature. As a baby he was bigger than most, he busted out of basically everything earning him the nickname Buster. He had several nicknames throughout life like Step, Big Country and Sack Jr. just to name a few. Cornell loved his friends and family running into him, you were guaranteed to be greeted with that big huge smile.

Cornell made his connection with Portland, Oregon with his grandmother who he called mother as a child and stayed a while. He made his way back down south to Louisiana to work for his father's tire company. As an adult he traveled back to Portland to work in order to save money to send for his family. His family joined him in Portland the year of 1997. He dibbled and dabbled in many professions over the years. He held jobs from the union hall, different shipyards, Gundersons, moving companies and construction. No matter the trial and tribulations he went through what never changed was the love he had for his family and friends.

Cornell loved sports especially basketball from playing it to watching it. You could catch him on a good day enjoying a good game on T.V. Not only did he love sports, he loved a good meal, don't act full around him, he was more than happy to help you finish your plate as well. One of his many hobbies was detailing cars, he loved a clean ride just as much as he loved a clean house. He took pride in everything he did. He was a gentle giant with a smile that could light up any room and definitely had the gift and the ability to hold great conversations. He was the big man who was light on his feet and ready to cut a rug at any moment, definitely the life of any party. He loved entertaining family and friends playing a good game of spades. During your times of sadness just think of that big smile that could light up any room and let it light up your heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Evelyn Woods; his father, Lonnie Woods; mother, Diane Hall; and aunt, Lizzie Rodriguez.

He leaves to mourn his children, Kewanna, Jamiece, Stephenic Jr., Olajuwon, Katrell, Rhonda, and Retha; his siblings, Tony Hall, Daphine Smith, Lonnie Hooks (Jeree), and Kenyatha Conerly (Blake); five grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
