Shurnice L. Davis was born in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, January 29, 1984, to James and Shurdine Davis-Harris. She attended Woodlawn Elementary, Thomas Jefferson High School, and Portland Community College. She was a healthcare worker for the state of Oregon for many years. She did grass root direct organizing with Sister in Actions. Shurnice was a member of Under the Blood Ministries for twenty-plus years.
Shurnices Davis, also known as NeeCee by friends and loved ones. So much can be said about a beautifully resilient hard working loving woman. A truly complex person, she was always able to be what you needed when you needed it. A true provider and protector and leader in every way. She was always willing to stand in the gap for family and friends, making sure no love nor security was lost during times of adversity. She never met a person that stayed a stranger for long. She stood up for anyone. A motivator, mentor and caregiver, and best friend.
She is proceeded in death by her parents James I. Harris and Shurdine Davis-Harris, brother Kenneth I. Davis,
She is survived by siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and a host of family and friends.
