Sandy Lee Moore, 84, of Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1940 in Twist, Arkansas, to Boston and Katie Bell Moore he was a loving husband, father, and friend. He spent part of his life growing up in Meridian Mississippi and then soon moved to live out the rest of his adult life and career in Portland, Oregon. Sandy attended and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1958.
He was a respected leader at United Airlines, having worked there for 35+ years and then at TSA, known for his work ethic, integrity and friendly smile. Sandy enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and traveling. He previously served our country in the Army and we are proud to have him part of our family.
Sandy is survived by his daughters, Denyse and Dorysa and granddaughter Bella, second wife Betty; siblings Rosie (Everett) Johnson, Henry (Cal) Moore, and John (Wendy) Moore. As well as loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his first wife Shireen and his son, Sandy Lee Moore II. He took immense pride in watching his children grow into compassionate, strong individuals and was their unwavering support in all aspects of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association in Sandy's memory.
Sandy’s family is comforted knowing that his love and legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a man who made the world a better place simply by being in it, and he will be missed more than words can express. Rest in peace, Sandy—your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
