Ruby Stewart Obituary

Ruby Carrie Stewart (Andrews) was born December 1, 1933, in
Houston Texas to parents Telesmar Junius Sr. and Ruby Lee Andrews.
She grew up with her family in Texas and attended Booker T.
Washington School until the family relocated to Portland Or. in the
early 1950s. The family followed their father (affectionately known as
The Deac) and three older siblings (Wilbert, William and TJ) who
preceded them and paved the way for the family to move from Texas.
After moving to Portland Deacon Andrews along with Bishop A.B.
Williams founded the first Church of the Living God PGT in the area.
Ruby was a lifelong member of the church.
Ruby graduated from Grant High School in 1953. She worked for the
Veterans Hospital in Portland for 30 years. It was here that she met
her husband Hosea Stewart whom she married in 1960 and loved until
his death in 1984.
In the late 1970s She along side her sister Vivian became Missionaries
in the church. Ruby was extremely proud to be a missionary like her
mother before her. Ruby was a devoted member of the church. Her
favorite scripture was the 91st division of Psalm.
From 1996 to 2005, Missionary Stewart was pastor of the Church of
the Living God PGT Temple #2 in Portland under the title of
Supervisor. Serving the Lord and attending church was the most
passionate thing she loved to do.
Ruby had a love for children and caring for people, she over the years
opened her home to over 30 foster children. Some stayed for long
periods, and some would come back often to visit her over the years.
