Rodney Lavour Burton

Rodney Lavour Burton left this world and went to the joy and light of the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2022. He passed away peacefully at the Portland Veterans Hospital with his loving mother and friend by his side.

Rodney was hospitalized March 29, 2022 after being diagnosed with pneumonia and stage four lung cancer that had already metastasized. For Rodney and his family, it was an intensely painful and agonizing thirty days. As Rodney struggled with the pain and distress of his illness. So while we mourn his sudden death we are grateful to know he is at rest.

He was a son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend - known affectionately as ‘Ron’ and ‘Uncle Ron’. Rodney was kind, giving, and always willing to help, “never saying no”, with a loving sense of humor. For those of us who knew and loved him, he will always be in our hearts. He is loved and missed.
