Robert T Nelson was born on March 12, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Willie and Eleanor Nelson.
He was the 7th born of 11 children and shared a tight bond with each of his siblings.
Robert lived in Shreveport during his early childhood years. In the mid 1950s, he and his family moved to Portland, Oregon, where he lived the remainder of his life.
Robert built a career and made a living as a construction worker, working at the Shipyard and various construction sites. He was a hard worker and took pride in his work.
When asked about his occupation, he would proudly state "Construction worker", without hesitation.
Those who knew Robert could attest to his quiet, laid-back demeanor and easy-going personality.
He enjoyed the simple things in life...spending time with family and friends, playing dominos and watching a good ol' Western show or movie.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Willie Nelson; mother, Eleanor Nelson; wife, Denise Luster; daughter, LaShawnda Luster; sisters, Cora Riley, Nora Nard, Zerlene Sykes, Vera Nard; and brother, Joseph (JB) Nelson.
