Rhonda Maria Solomon was born March 31, 1952 in Los Angeles, California to Brooksie Williams, who later met and married the man Rhonda called her dad, Mr. Stanley Majors.
Rhonda grew up with brothers Stanley Majors Jr, Bernard Majors, and Lamar Majors, as well as sisters Lorna Joseph and Miriam Joseph.
Rhonda attended the University of Portland and was a member of several organizations. She was an advocate for recovery for those who are struggling with addiction. She was involved with AA, NA, and The Miracles Club of Portland; helping those in need of housing.
Rhonda was well traveled, having spent some time as a military wife. She lived in Portland most of her life but also lived in places such as Germany, Tacoma, and even London. She enjoyed art, reading, writing, and Black History. Rhonda also loved plants, music, and dancing.
On May 21, 1972, Rhonda welcomed a baby boy to the world; Shawnavon Bernard Horne. She has since been blessed with three grandchildren O'Shea Brooks, Taja Blackburn, and Phelex Onasis.
Rhonda’s friends and family describe her as being very honest and expressive. She was the life of the party, well spoken, and clean. She always had her nails looking fresh!
Rhonda was known by many, loved by all, and she will be dearly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
