Reginald Hoodye passed away on January 16, 2024 at his home in Portland Oregon. Reginald, fondly known as Reggie to his friends and family, was born on February 8, 1951 to Louis and Georgia Hoodye.
During his earlier years at Washington High School in Portland Oregon, he was known to be an excellent athlete and excelled in baseball, track & field, football, wrestling and also was a drum major for the band. Later on, he went to play baseball and football at the Oregon College of Education (now known as Western Oregon State University) where he graduated during the 1970’s.
He loved playing his trombone and had the opportunity to play with Tower of Power and Cold Blood in the 1970’s and other various venues around Portland Oregon but in his later years, you could find him playing at Clyde’s Prime Rib Restaurant & Bar off of Sandy Blvd.
Reggie always had a close relationship with his father, Louis Hoodye. He was preceded in death by Louis and also his mother, Georgia Hoodye.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald Hoodye and his long time partner, Emily Haritonoff along with his two sons, Reginald Hoodye Jr. and Eric Best.
