Raymond Hanson Obituary

Raymond George Hanson passed away peacefully at age 77, November 10, 2024. Ray was born June 14,1947, in Milbank South Dakota to George and Ann Hanson. Ray is survived by his family, brother Lee Hanson (Susan Cautley), son Alan Hanson (Kelly Jennings), daughter Lea Ann Burr, grandsons Seth, Colton and Cody Burr, Blake and Sean Jennings, nephew Erik Hanson, (Sheila) and fiancé Dionne Hutton.

Ray and Dionne had planned to be married. However, Ray's condition made it very difficult to plan. Ray graduated from Bella Vista HS in 1965, then moved to Oregon with family and attended U of O. Ray returned to the Sacramento area where he worked as a repossession specialist and met Susan Roddis. In 1967 Ray started a new career with Cambells Soup as an Inspector and Quality Control Specialist as well as attending American River College. Ray and Susan were married and in 1973 they moved back to Oregon where Ray started a beverage distribution business, Garland Distributors with his parents and brother. Ray, Sue, Alan and Lea Ann lived in Tillamook and Ray and Lee operated the business until 1985 at which point Ray and Sue divorced. Ray then embarked on a new career as a business broker with Crader and Associates. At that time, he met Lee Ann Gadilauskas. Ray and Lee Ann married and Ray started Pragma Ventures, helping business owners evaluate, market and sell their businesses. Ray and Lee Ann lived in West Linn and were married for 23 years. They discovered their passion for travel, visiting Greece, England, Thailand and China. They also shared their love of skiing in Utah and Colorado until Lee Ann’s passing. Ray met Dionne Hutton in 2015. They attended many festivals and events throughout the Northwest and traveled the world together.

Throughout Ray’s life he was involved with many organizations, most notably The Royal Rosarians, where he served as Prime Minister in 2011. He was also involved in The Elks, Rotary Club, Oregon Executives Assoc., Rose Festival, and Loaves and Fishes. Ray’s love for his family, friends, clients, and community was profound. He enjoyed life and lived each and every moment to the fullest, enriching the lives of everyone he touched. Ray’s unwavering love, strength, and support will be deeply missed.
