Orella Compton Richardson was born September 29, 1932 to Kathern Walker and Tommie Lee Compton Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas. At an early age she accepted Christ at St. Matthew Baptist Church.
Orella graduated from Northern High school in Detroit, Michigan. She met and married Willie Richardson in 1950. To this union came a son Walter; deceased 1998. At the age of 38, Orella went back to school to receive a B.A. Degree at U.C. Berkeley. Orella worked as a teacher for 10 years at John O’Connell High School of Technology in San Francisco, CA.
Willie and Orella relocated to Portland where they became members of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James Martin.
Preceding her in death is her beloved husband, son, mother, father, two sisters and one brother. She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: one granddaughter Antoinette, one grandson Alvis, two great granddaughters Amber and Akaiya, two great-great grandsons Tay’Andre Jr. and Quinton Jr., and a host of relatives and friends.
