Moses Dyson, a beloved member of the Portland community, passed away on October 22, 2024, at the age of 58. Moses Daniel Dyson, was born February 19, 1966 to Lubertha Warren and the late James Roy Dyson in Independence, Louisiana. Moses was known for his kind and gentle nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Moses enjoyed serving and helping people. He served as a Homeless Advocate at Salvation Army and The ARC. As he continue to press forward in his career, he became a Housing Manger at Self Enhancement of Portland, Oregon where he served the North and Northeast Portland Communities. He was a dedicated friend and neighbor, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious laughter and warm smile will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him. Moses leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire others for years to come. He joined Union Chapel A.M.E Church at a early age. Moses graduated from Jewel M. Sumner High School in Kentwood, Louisiana in May 1984 and join the United States Air Force. Once he return from the Air Force he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he later join and served as the Media Tech at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. In August of 2014 he received his Associate of Arts in Organizational Dynamics and in August 2016 Moses received his Bachelor of Science in Human Development and a Minor in Human Resources Management. Moses is survived by his mother, Lubertha Warren. Sisters and brothers, Mary Denise Lincoln -Brumfield and Kenneth Brumfield, Melvin and Shirley Norman, Alfred and Mickey Warren, Sabrina Norman all of Portland Oregon and Darnell and Tory Dyson of Los Angeles, Ca. His Uncle and Aunt of Portland, Oregon and Kentwood, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews. He predeceased by his father, James Roy Dyson, his brother, Curtis O. Norman and his Grandparents John and Ada Warren and McCoy Dyson Sr and Lula Bell Dyson.
