Michael Patrick Young, M.D., born on May 8, 1950, in Granite City, Illinois, left this world on October 3, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. He was the eldest of 12 siblings and a true beacon of humanity. Michael possessed qualities that touched the lives of all who knew him: he was humanitarian, compassionate, intelligent, wise, patient, non-judgmental, and innovative.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Young, and their three children: Stacey Webster, Shelley Joy, and Ryan Young. His legacy lives on through nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and the enduring bonds he shared with his nine siblings.
His intelligence and wisdom were unmatched. Michael's insights and advice were sought after by friends and strangers alike. He had a unique ability to see the bigger picture and offer guidance that left a lasting impact on those he counseled.
Michael's patience was legendary. He approached every situation with a calm and collected demeanor, providing a soothing presence to those around him. His ability to listen and offer support made him a trusted confidant to many.
A true non-judgmental spirit, Michael embraced diversity and accepted people for who they were without prejudice. He believed in the inherent goodness of humanity and inspired others to do the same.
