Marjorie Ann Harris passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, in Portland, Oregon at the age of 70 due to complications stemming from a medical procedure. Born on December 30, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Marjorie was the beloved daughter of Samuel King Sr. and Christine Balynd, both of whom preceded her in death
Marjorie spent the majority of her life in Inglewood and Los Angeles, California, before moving to Portland in 1998, where she made her home for the past 26 years. In 1977, she met Theron, the love of her life and they married 34 years later ibn April 23, 2011. Together they raised a beautiful family, including children from Marjorie’s previous marriage: Melvin (Chris) Orr, Maurice (Moe) Orr and Melvina (Nee Nee) Orr. She and Theron also welcomed two children of their own, Terese Reven Harris and Theron Lee Harris Jr. (Tee).
Marjorie and Theron proudly purchased their first home together on NE Milton Street in Portland, where they created many lasting memories.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theron Lee Harris Sr., She is survived by her children and their spouses; Melvin and Donna Oden -Orr, Maurice Orr and Kayla Anton, Melvina and Johnny Blue, Terese Harris and Anthony Wilson Sr. and Theron Lee Harris Jr. She also leaves behind her sister Dorothy, her brother Willie and her sister-in-law Redd, as well as her cherished grandchildren; Marshae Orr, Donavan McFadden, Christopher Oden-Orr, Donniesha Barnes, Jalen Orr, Elijah Oden-Orr, Kalen Harris, Kayloni Harris-Jones, Brayden Orr, Kaden Harris, Jayden Corson, Layla Corson, Jeremiah Harris, Lyam Orr and Legend Harris.
Her legacy continues through her Great-Grandchildren; Maliah McLin, LaShuna Orr, Josiah Edwards and Zion McFadden.
Marjorie’s warmth, love and dedication to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
