Lorene Bizzell
Lorene Bizzell, loving spirit, amazing woman, and Mother of five children passed away on April 24, 2020 at the age of 93, of a full, and tired heart. She was born Eloise Frye on May 25, 1926 in Ferda, Arkansas to parents Lela and Nathaniel Frye. She had seven siblings, grew up in the care of her grandparents for a time, and made an incredible life out of humble beginnings. Her first child, Norma came at the age of 15. She married Jesse Marks, and moved to Vanport, Oregon during the Great Migration where three additional children, Jeffery, Helen and Debbie were born. She later married Leroy Bizzell, and birthed daughter Sydney. She was a devoted and helpful provider to her children, husbands, and to the work that she did as a waitress, janitor, and kitchen helper.
Lorene had a passion for her family and was a consummate host. She was fun loving, independent, and light of heart. She loved to laugh, and The Young and The Restless. She was a doer of the crossword, player of Bunco, poster on Facebook, a solitaire junkie, and a voracious reader. She liked travel and fast driving. She was a fantastic cook, homemaker, and there was always more room at the table. She was playful, and a subtle giver of advice. She was tolerant, compassionate, and all who knew her loved her. She was resilient, strong, and the model of a matriarch, who was admired for her beauty throughout her life. We will miss her so much!
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Jeffery, and 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughters Norma McKinney, Helen Burns, Debbie Marks, Sydney (Ernest) Roberts, and sister, Lelia Williams. She leaves to mourn 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial celebration will be held at a date when those who love her can be together in her honor.
