Linda Joyce Smith was born December 19, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Rance and Nettie Norman.
Linda attended Woodland Elementary School and Jefferson High School. She worked at Sears Roebuck, Pet-Co and Laurelhurst Village Assisted Living, as well as many other various jobs.
Linda had two daughters, Stephanie Smith and Yaise Ford. In 1982, she met her life long-partner, Robert Brown.
She was an extremely compassionate and considerate woman who always helped others in need when they needed someplace to stay. Linda,
affectionately known as Auntie Linda, was the LIFE of the party. If you knew her, you knew that one leg was going up - she was always someone’s dance partner.
Linda gave her life to Christ in the late 90’s and joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Rance and Nettie Norman; brothers, Billy Ray, Sam, Eddie, and Richard Norman; and sister, Jackie Smith.
Cherishing her memories are her daughters, Stephanie Smith (Kenny Ray), and Yaise Ford (Joe); siblings, Jean Howard, Joanne Young, Kay Thurmond (Kenny), Paula Oseynen (Fred) of Fortworth, Texas, Johnny Norman (Faynett), Garland Norman, and Marcus Norman of Portland, Oregon; grandkids, Deshawn, Garrett,
Diontae, Tyshawn, Yashawn, Nadarris, Jaisha, and Jolicia; four great grandkids, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
