Lillian Montgomery was on born January 19, 1930 in Vaiden, Mississippi to Mary Lee Watson and Will Glasper (both deceased) Lillian is one of 6 siblings; Louise Davenport, Betty Green, Lillie B. Gant, Robert Glasper and William Henry Watson. She spent her childhood years growing up in Mississippi. Later on she met and married Willie D. Montgomery Sr., her beloved husband of 60 years. They moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1953, and to this union was born 5 children.
In 1972 due to a job transfer by her husband, they packed up the family and moved to Portland, Oregon. Lillian accepted the Lord as her savior in 1975. A gifted prayer warrior and servant of God, she was diligent in her ministry, and everyone she came in contact with left knowing she loved the Lord. She served faithfully as a Missionary at Philadelphia Community Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. B. M. McSwain, until she transferred her membership to Cornerstone C.O.G.I.C. under Supt. B. E. Johnson in 2000 where she served faithfully as Missionary and later Mother in the church.
Preceded in death by her husband Willie D. Montgomery, Sr.; son, William Glasper; sisters, Louise Davenport, Betty Green and Lillie B. Gant, and brothers, Robert Glasper and William Henry Watson, she leaves to cherish her loving memory: children, Delores (Mark) Goldsby, David (Patricia) Montgomery, Gregory Montgomery, Rená Montgomery, T. Warren Montgomery, all of Portland, Oregon, and Mary (Marcus) Jones, of Houston, Texas, and stepchildren, Willie Montgomery Jr, of Portland, Oregon, Diane McLain, and Wesley Montgomery of Chicago, Illinois. She has 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
