Lenora Streeter-Hammick was born Tuesday, December 14, 1965, to her loving parents, Hebert L Streeter Sr. and Willie B. Streeter in Portland, Oregon.
As a child Lenora attended Irvington and Fernwood Elementary Schools and Madison High School. Lenora had a passion for playing the drums and cooking. Lenora attended Open Door House of Prayer, she then moved over to St. James Pentecostal Church where she became the Choir Director.
Unfortunately, Lenora was unable to have her own children, but her love for children was strong. If you would ask her; her nieces and nephews were her own. Lenora was a great stepmother to Byron Hammick Jr. (BJ) and a loving grandma to Bryon Hammick III (Bbop.)
In the late 1980’s Lenora met Byron Hammick Sr. they dated throughout the years fell in love and later married July 21, 2001.
Over the years her love of children lead her to create a nonprofit organization B&L Outreach. B&L Outreach provided help to low-income families throughout the year especially the holiday season it also allowed them to experience professional sporting events.
Merit Lenora Streeter- Hammick was a caring wife, sister, aunt and friend. She lived her life of 55 years how she wanted to live her life, regardless of the rules and customs in place.
Lenora as she like to be called was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest until Sunday, November 14, 2021, when she was found unresponsive at her home, she then was rushed to Providence Portland Hospital. The doctors did all they could to bring her back but was unsuccessful. On Friday, November 19, 2021, Lenora took her final breath and transitioned from this life to the next surrounded by family and friends.
Proceeding her in death are her parents; Mother Willie B Streeter, Father Herbert L Streeter Sr, in-laws;J.D. and Mattie Hammick, Brothers; Frank and Marty Streeter, Stepson; Byron Hammick Jr.
She leaves behind brothers; Jessie Streeter, Herbert Streeter Jr., Dana Streeter, Gary Wayne Streeter Sr. and Sister; Shirley Streeter-Coleman, Grandson; Byron Hammick III. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lenora was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.
