LaToya Hill Obituary

LaToya Maria Hill was born in Portland, Oregon June 28, 1986, to Marvin and Ruby Hill. She was so in a hurry to get here; she came one month early. She was the first born of the two siblings and had a bond with her younger brother Terrence as if they were in the womb at the same time. She and her brother were definitely joined at the hip and the heart. Not a day went by that she did not speak to her parents and her brother.

She attended Head Start, Sabin Elementary School, Beaumont Middle School, St. Mary's Academy and attended Ulysses Grant High School and graduated as a General in 2004. After high school she went on to Clackamas Community College where she earned an associate degree.

If you knew LaToya, you know she loved BBQ's, her family, friends and all children deeply. Second to the love of her family she was a sports fanatic. Her favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers, and her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Her favorite athletes were Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry and Allen Iverson (AI). Her first basketball team she played for was in the 5th grade and Colleen Fathery was her coach. She went on to play basketball for Central Catholic and for AAU with Diane and Chuck as her coaches. She loved her nephews and niece so much. When she would attend the games supporting her nephews, she was always the loudest person there. She would also stop anywhere and give advice to any kid if she saw them whether she knew them or not about how to position themselves, flex their wrists as they focused on making basketball shots.

LaToya's favorite color was red, but she loved wearing bright colors and especially her pink flamingo shorts. Her favorite tv shows was P-Valley, Power, the Golden Girls and her absolute favorite show was I Love Lucy. Things she would always say were, "Cuddy" or Every time I go somewhere people always say I look like my mom as if I didn't know that, her auntie Dianne would say she looked like "Bert" which is her grandmother. Other things she would say is, "I love the babies, I'm not leaving you I'll always be here for you, and what are you doing?"

There is so much that can be said and shared. LaToya will be missed deeply.

Family members that have gone on before her are; her grandparents Harrison Sr. and Anne Mae Guy, Elbert Sr. and Berthola Hill. Her uncle John Causey, her aunt Dianne Causey, her cousins Carlos Causey and Lamar Simpson.

Latoya leaves to cherish her memories, her parents Marvin and Ruby Hill, her brother Terrence Hill Sr. (Selma), fiancé Danielle McGruder, special friend, Randee Battee; nephews, Terrence Hill Jr., Tyvelle Hill and her niece, Leilah Mae Hill. Her stepchildren, Azaylia, Kennedy, Jazmia and Calizia, and Zae and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
