LaRon Eugene Washington was born Rocky Dale Orr Jr. on July 21, 1986, in Portland, Oregon.
LaRon was the first grandbaby and he had first grandbaby privileges. There were a lot of first time experiences learned because of his grand entrance.
Growing up, LaRon became a natural born leader and was very protective of his family. He really didn’t have a choice since at any given time there was a house full of siblings and cousins (Esha, TiTi, DeeDee, Boobee, Nee’-Nee’, Man-Man, & Bear). He made sure everything and everyone stayed in order.
LaRon’s greatest accomplishment and pride & joy was finding out he was going to be a dad to a handsome baby boy whom he got to name, Na’Jeh. Na’Jeh is definitely his daddy’s best friend. Their relationship was like no other and needed no explanation.
LaRon enjoyed sharing his son’s school breaks. They both looked forward to every visit and stayed in constant contact in between time.
LaRon attended King & Boise-Eliot Elementary School, Harriet Tubman Middle School, & Reynolds High School. LaRon received an Educational Scholarship after successfully completing Friends of the Children with the guidance and mentorship from Big Brother Ruben Nava. His High School diploma was received at Portland Youth Builders where he also was able to experience his Construction Apprenticeship and wages for hours worked.
LaRon was not able to complete the Apprenticeship program due to sustaining life threatening injuries that left him paralyzed for the past 12 years.
LaRon was nocturnal. He slept all day and up all night. Medication couldn’t change his sleep pattern no matter how much medication was prescribed. He would stay up playing video games with his nephew Curtis and cousins Boobee and E-Man.
Movie night with his brother Dee-Dee was their thing and they both looked forward to it.
LaRon enjoyed listening to Tech N9ne, playing video games, & watching sports (basketball, football, & hockey).
LaRon’s faith in God was his strength. This is what kept him fighting for so long. His will to live became his mother and sisters' fight.
Preceding LaRon in death are his baby sister, Ta’Tyanna Washington-Davis, uncle, Ronald “LaRon” Washington Jr., Grandparents, Peggy Rodriguez (Wallace), Eugene “Rocky” Orr, Great-Grandparents, Cleveland & Lenaer Williams, Joyce Washington, Great-Great Grandparents, Perry & Freda Murray
