Juanita Jones (Poston)

In this turbulent period, God still finds it necessary to call his creations home. So it was with Juanita, that our creator summoned from us our dearly beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

Juanita Jones was born in Portland, Oregon on August 30, 1955 to Bertha Lee and RV Poston Sr. She attended Boise and King Elementary Schools and graduated from Adams High School. During her career Juanita held a variety of positions while working for Country Wide, Meier & Frank, and most recently after moving back to Portland in 2021, ABM Industries at the Portland Airport. Over the years, she has lived in California, New York, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas.

Throughout her life, Juanita touched and inspired many family members and friends with her simple acts of kindness. She especially loved her nieces and nephews--she was actively involved in helping to raise them, while always giving and nurturing their spirits. Much like her maternal Grandfather, Juanita never met a stranger, and spoke to everyone she met. She was very discreet and careful not to offend family or friends. She was immaculate in the way she dressed, often suggesting clothing for others. Juanita was fearless, beautiful, compassionate and incredibly family
oriented; she was the life of every party and told the best stories. We will miss her laughter, her smile, and her vivacious and generous spirit.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her mother, Bertha Lee Poston, two sisters, Alva Lee Houston and Genevieve (Cindy) Poston, two brothers, Lavern Houston and Cameron James of Portland, Oregon; an uncle and three aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, RV Poston Sr.; sister, Versia DeWayne Poston; two brothers, Frank Richard Poston and RV Poston Jr.; and sister-in-law Selina Poston.
