James Wilson Jr. Obituary

The life of James Matthew Wilson Jr. Born on March 7, 1951, in Portland Oregon to James Matthew Sr. and Anniebelle Wilson. James was the youngest of two children.

Growing up James attended Portsmouth, Roosevelt, and later went on to graduate from Portland State University. James entered the working world by being employed at the Shipyard and Freightliner. While those jobs were beneficial and served the purpose at that time, James decided to put his skills, resources, and determination to work and became an entrepreneur owning several businesses. Brina’s Swap Meet, Bella’s Tapes & CD’s, and T & T Landscaping. As you can tell James was no stranger to working and making ends meet. James was also the founder of the nonprofit K.I.N.O.G (Kids In Need Of Guidance) where he found himself pouring into the lives of young people.

James attended various churches throughout the city of Portland, but he became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in 1994. James had a love for music and was also a music producer where he spent countless hours in the studio with inspiring artists. The love for music didn’t start there, James was also the lead drummer in a band he formed called Cross Country. Music gave him life!

Outside of working and music James devoted his time and efforts to those that called him dad. He was blessed with 12 biological children, Jacinta Hunter, Eric Hart, Mishika Wilson, Acasia Wilson, Raphel Lambert, Manya Gremaud, Anniebelle Wilson, James Wilson III, J’Son Wilson, Tavon Wilson, Alize Johnson, Samariya Lambert, and two stepchildren: Ameritia Cavil-Fluker and Robert Cavil. James was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and Barbequing.

There was James the son, he was Christa’s only brother, the father of 12, an uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to many, but then there was “PITBULL”. How does one get such name you might ask…… Some say he got his name from raising Pitbull’s; but if you knew James you would understand that it’s deeper than that. Pitbull’s are known to be fun-loving, strong, energetic, agile, and powerful. Determination is one of their most powerful traits. Pitbull owners are typically found to be a little aggressive and coldhearted outwardly and they don’t offer trust easily! However, when they do… it is unconditional. This bread lover will go to great lengths to PROTECT his loved ones and trusted friendships. “PITBULL” a nickname that we now understand was so fitting. James lived up to the name he answered to and exemplified the qualities and characteristics that came along with it.  So, in the words of our beloved James Wilson….. PERIOD!

James “Pitbull” Wilson was preceeded in death by his parents, James and Anniebelle Wilson; sister, Christa Mullen; nephew, Tyrone Mullen; twin grandsons, Dion and Diontre; and 2 granddaughters, J’sanna and Brittany.

James leaves to cherish his memories his children; Jacinta, Eric (Chanesa), Mishika (Roberto), Acasia (David), Raphel (Corey), Manya, Anniebelle, James, J’son, Tavon, Alize (Joshua), Samariya, Ameritia (Garvis), and Robert. Sharing in his memories are his 22 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of family members and friends.

James was born on March 7th, called home on June 7th at the age of 73. Seven is known to be the number of completion. James fought the good fight, he ran the race, and completed the course and now JAMES “PITBULL” WILSON YOU CAN REST IN THE ARMS OF THE FATHER!
