In the early hours of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the world lost one of its most elegant luminaries. Jacqueline Glenette Kennedy, affectionately known as Jackie, transitioned peacefully at the age of 70. Born on September 3, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to Pauline and Plessie Wentworth, Jackie grew up in a lively household surrounded by her 13 siblings, Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Plessie Wentworth, and siblings Dorothy Powell, Denise Wentworth, Rochelle Wentworth, Paula Shipp, Plessie Lee Wentworth Jr., Caesar Wentworth, Cortez Wentworth, Alice Ruth Shipp, Barbara Reed, and Cornelius Wentworth.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Vonnon Wentworth of Portland, OR; her beloved dog, Charlie; and the love of her life, Darryl Smith of Longview, WA. Jackie adored her granddaughters, Nevonte Wentworth and Amya Addy Wentworth who filled her heart with joy and Davon Wentworth, Davonn Wentworth. She is also remembered by stepdaughter Shawnee Dodson of Gulfport, MS, and stepson Darius Smith of Portland, OR.
