Ida Jeanette Cunningham was born December 17th, 1954 in the city of Portland, Oregon. She resided in Portland with her family and friends her whole life. She was born to Mary Emma Cunningham and James Cunningham and was the only girl of 7 children; brothers, James Cunningham, Clifford Cunningham, Charles Cunningham, Michael Cunningham, Johnny Cunningham, Gerald Cunningham. Ida’s passing left two remaining brothers, Clifford Cunningham and Gerald Cunningham, as well as a daughter, Juanita Thomas.
After our mother passed and went home, she took on the role of the family keeper and did her best to hold the family together. Her church home was Maranatha for many years. She was a devoted member and loved everything about worshiping there. She loved the music and always would sing to us out of the blue and would make us attempt to sing along. Next to singing, she loved her Twix candy; she would send you to the store after it and wouldn’t take no for an answer!
She never had kids of her own, but was the mother to many. She loved children and remembered so many birthdays and ages. Her family was extremely important to her; If anyone was in need, she would be there to help in any way she could.
Ida, you will be missed and loved in every way there is. She's in heaven now, with the rest of our family, singing the praise of the Lord. Rest now sister, Auntie, and keeper of the flame. We Love you always.
