Henry J. Cedros, age 91, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019. Hank, as he was known, was born October 25, 1927 in Weed, CA, to Albert A. Cedros and Delphine L. Lemos Cedros.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane E. Magnuson Cedros, and survived by his daughter Brooke Cedros of Portland, his sister Henrietta Burcell of Anchorage, AK and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Al and Marian Smith of Portland. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Albert (Pat) Cedros, Harold Cedros, Alvin Cedros and his sister, Aileen Cedros Tipton.
Hank graduated from OCE (Oregon College of Education now known as Western Oregon) with a degree in Education after years playing college football at University of Oregon and University of North Dakota. He taught high school for 32 years with his last 25 years spent at Milwaukie High School where he also coached freshman football and golf before retiring in 1988.
During his college years, Hank joined the ROTC while at U of O. Then while at UND, he joined the National Guard. When his unit was activated, he spent his training at Camp Rucker, Alabama, and became a medic.
He was a beloved uncle who so enjoyed his nieces and nephews and as a great uncle, got to flex his grandparent muscles which delighted him to no end. Hank loved his family, watching football, trips to Portugal, good Port and Dixieland Jazz.
