Gregory Johnson, also known as “Magic Man,” was born on May 11, 1955 to the late Ura B Johnson and Olympia Pratt in Seattle, Washington.

Greg grew up in a large family; He was one of 11 children. As a child, he attended elementary and middle school in Seattle.

Gregory was also a talented musician and he could be spotted playing music at many local churches here in Portland.

Sadly, Greg passed away on August 30, 2020 at the age of 65 after battling some long term health complications. He was preceded in death by his father, Ura B Johnson; his mother, Olympia Pratt; sisters, Jackie Houston and Diane Wilson; niece, Kenya Houston; and nephews, Tommy Riggins and William Wilson.

Those left to mourn Greg’s passing are his sisters: Annette Johnson, Peggy Houston, Cynthia Evans, and Debra Carter; brothers, Jeffrey Johnson, Mansfield Houston, David Johnson, and Donald Houston; his stepson, Curtis Hallowell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He will be especially missed by his best friend, Julie.
