Glenn Lionel Lewis

Glenn Lionel Lewis was born in the hallway of OHSU Hospital while his mother waited for a room. He simply would not wait. From the very beginning, Glenn was determined to get the job done.

On September 15, 1956, Glenn was born to Mary Lee McCully and Walter Lee Lewis, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Don Alfred Burns and James Ray Burns, and his sister, Shawntela Renee Lewis.

Glenn leaves behind his sisters, Patricia Lewis and his baby sister, Yulinda Hysmith, as well as his brother, Danny Ray Lewis.

Glenn was raised in Portland, Oregon. As a child, he was quite mischievous both in school and around the neighborhood. Glenn was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he was needed. He was the one who would come to save the day, whether you wanted him to or not.

Glenn never met a stranger. He would stop and talk with anyone and everyone he encountered. Helping others and sharing conversations were simply part of who he was. He never limited himself, believing there was nothing he could not do. Rather than talk about it, he simply did it and got the job done.

In life, Glenn met and married Wendy White, and God blessed their union with two beautiful daughters, Brandi Lewis and Amber Lewis.

Glenn will always be deeply missed. He also shared a special bond with his nephew, Tyru Prior, whom he loved dearly. The love we share on earth is never wasted, for love is eternal and has no ending.

Glenn had a remarkable ability to fill a room with laughter and music. He loved life and lived it on his own terms, doing exactly what Glenn Lewis wanted to do.

A special thank you goes to Fred Washington, Glenn's true friend from elementary school through the end of his life and beyond. Whenever Glenn needed him, Fred was always there.

Later in life, Glenn met the love of his life, Patricia Kennedy Wilson, with whom he shared the last 25 years of his life. Their love endured through every season. Glenn asked Patricia to come dance through life with him in marriage, and that is exactly what they did, through all of life's joys and challenges, until death parted them.
