Gerald Dwayne Cabine was born on October 4, 1964 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Julius “Jabo” and Irene Cabine. The Lord called Gerald home on December 17, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was the youngest in a family of twelve children. Gerald was baptized at an early age at St. Luke AME Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After graduating in 1983 from White Hall High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas he moved to Portland, Oregon. After relocating to Portland, he met and married the love of his life Cristy Ann Martin on 11-9-2002. Gerald joined Allen Temple CME Church where he served as a faithful servant for many years. He regularly helped around the church and a great supporter to the Allen Temple Food Bank with food pickup and anything else that needed to be done.
Gerald and his wife Cristy knew the importance of entrepreneurship. They were established business owners of multiple rental properties. Gerald also worked as a driver for Tri Met for 20 years. Family and friends refer to Gerald as the “Go to Guy”. All you had to do was call Gerald who would help or refer you to who could get the job done.
Gerald loved his family and the apple of his eye is his precious daughter Camryn who is currently a student at San Diego State University in San Diego, California. If you know one thing about Gerald you knew Camryn was loved by her Daddy.
Most of you know Gerald was a “talker”. Although he had difficult the last few months communicating, the family could only smile and found joy knowing he was now in a place making up for lost time talking with family and friends that preceded him or anyone else who would listen.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Julius “Jabo” and Irene Cabine, brother, Raymond Cabine, sisters Lorraine Cabine and Erma Aker.
Gerald leave to cherish his loving and supportive wife of 21 years Cristy. His wonderful daughter Camryn. Three sisters, Dorothy Ann Miller of Compton, California, Gloria Cabine of Damascus, Oregon and Brenda Cabine Hall (Chever) of Portland, Oregon. Six brothers, Samuel Cabine (Pat) of Portland, Oregon, Eugene Cabine of Kansas City, Missouri, Monroe Cabine (Betty) of West Linn, Oregon, Manuel Cabine (Judith) of Flint, Michigan, Rickey Cabine (Noreen), Elma, Washington, and Antonio Cabine (Terry Ann) of Happy Valley, Oregon as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and extended family and many friends.
