Floyd Hewitt, Jr. was born on February 24, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas to Floyd Hewitt, Sr. and Nessie Winner, he was the second of five children. He attended Boise-Elliot Elementary school and graduated from Jefferson High School, both schools are located in Portland, Oregon. Floyd was a U.S. military veteran having served in the Navy from 1971 to 1974 where he would go on special missions as a diver. He later became a welder at the shipyard where he worked very hard.
Floyd met the love of his life, Marian Annette (Ann) Williams. In 1976, their daughter, Elaine Jasmine Hewitt, was born to this union. They enjoyed the blessing of their family until Ann's passing in 1979. After some time, Floyd met Debbie Robinson and together they had their son, Michael Paul David Robinson in 1983. Once again, Floyd was a proud father.
Floyd was a "Jack of all Trades" working in many jobs. In his spare time, he loved to dance, joke around, and recite rhymes which he would create freestyle using acronyms. Floyd was known as the Acronym Man to some people but to his family, he was called by the nickname, Buzzard.
Preceding Floyd in death are his father, Floyd Hewitt, Sr.; mother, Nessie Winner; his older brother, Leon Winner, and youngest brother, Anthony Hewitt. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Elaine; son, Michael; one sister, Jackie Webb; one brother, Leroy Hewitt, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
