Emma Jewel Adams was born on June 13, 1936, in Terrell, Texas to Charles Wilson and Annie Menefee. As a little girl she moved to Portland, Oregon and attended Albina Christian Life Center. She worked as a housekeeper for the Hanson’s, whom she loved and was always talking about. She also worked for the Heathman Hotel and served as a foster parent until her retirement.
Emma had a wonderful and blessed life and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. We will cherish the memories of her in our thoughts and hearts forever. Her immense love for her family and friends is apparent by all the wonderful stories and pictures we have to remember her by.
She leaves behind to cherish her children, Rickey Jacobs, Glen Charleston, Michael Charleston, and Monica Charleston; and siblings, Evonne Cunningham, Carol Stevens, Gwen Robinzine, Jean Choice, Hadey Louise Welch, Robert Lee Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Emmit Wilson, and Charleen Wilson. She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Williams, David Jacobs, and Nataniel Charleston; and husband, Eugene Adams.
The family would like to take this time to thank everyone for the sincere and heartfelt love you all have shown us at our time of need. The prayers, cards, and financial assistance will not go unnoticed. And to her sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great great great grandson, Jaden, just know she loved you all very much.
