Ellen Huntsman Obituary

Ellen Mae Huntsman was born in Shelley, Idaho, on May 29, 1922, to Phoebe Connors and Jacob Huntsman and was the eldest of nine children. Her family migrated to Oregon, when she was a young adult.

In her early twenties, Ellen met Jesse D. Sims, the love of her life. She blessed him with seven beautiful children Robert Wagner and Jeffery Wagner (Hazel Grundy), Barbara Cochran (Preston Cochran), Sandra Wagner, Patricia Wagner (Ricky White), Cynthia Shavers (Arthur Shavers), and Pennie Sims, who survive her. Her beloved Jesse proceed Ellen in death in 2008

Ellen retired from Northwest Packing Company after forty years of service and is remembered as an outstanding employee and company manager.

Ellen was a wonderful and proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly and was the foundation that held them together until the day she went home to be with the Lord. Ellen was a true mother and nurturer to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was well-loved by many. Family and Friends remember her huge heart, loving-kindness, and the joy she brought to all who met her.

In her spare time, Ellen took pleasure in visiting family and friends, ever ready with a pot of coffee and conversation. Second, to visiting with family and friends, Ellen enjoyed card games, Pokeno, and going to play Bingo. Ellen had an extraordinary passion for cooking and loved to share a meal with those around her.

In 2019 Ellen gave her life to our Lord and Savior. She will always be remembered as one of God’s greatest gifts to her family, and all who were fortunate enough to meet her know Jesus must have broken the mold when he created her because she was, indeed, one of a kind.

Ellen was preceded in death by her Father Jacob Huntsman, Mother Phoebe Connors, Jesse D. Sims, brothers Danny Wagner, Ron Wagner, Dale Wagner, Sisters Marlene Bellinger, Mary Wollam, Dorothy Carpenter, and a granddaughter Lameshia Pope.

Left behind to celebrate the life of Ellen are her sisters Charlotte Myers and Bernice Riley, twenty grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
