Elaine Coxeff Obituary

Elaine Coxeff was born on June 16, 1954, in Portland, Oregon, to the late Doll Phillips and Elton Mack Phillips. She was truly love in human form—a woman whose kindness, compassion, and generosity touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her warm smile, caring heart, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who knew her.

Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. She attended Irvington Elementary School, Highland elementary School, Jefferson high School, and later John Adams High School, where she continued building the foundation of the compassionate and resilient woman she would become.

Throughout her career, Elaine worked in group homes serving young teens and children and later as a daycare provider. In every role, she shared her patience, wisdom, and compassion with countless individuals and families. Even after retirement, her nurturing spirit never faded, as she continued to care for and support those around her whenever they were in need.

Elaine found great joy in shopping, traveling, and bringing family together. She loved hosting gatherings, creating cherished memories, sharing laughter, and making everyone feel welcome. Her home was a place of love, comfort, and togetherness, where family and friends always knew they would be greeted with warmth and affection.

In 1973, Elaine met Jimmie “Skip” Asher, and the two were married on December 12, 1975, in Los Angeles, California. Their union was blessed with the birth of their son, Darrell Asher, on December 15, 1977. Elaine and Skip shared many joyful memories together, enjoying life, family, and celebrations. Even after their marriage ended, they remained devoted co-parents and cherished friends, maintaining a bond of mutual respect, friendship, and love for their family that endured throughout the years.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Doll Phillips and Elton Mack Phillips; her cherished siblings, Sarah Turner, Lillian Branch, Terry Phillips, Michael Phillips, and Laura Beaver; and her beloved grandson,J’meire Asher.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, Clinton Phillips and Darrell Asher; daughter-in-law, Marcelena McDonald; her siblings, Tyree Phillips, Raymond Wright, and Thomas Phillips; her grandchildren, Rai’shon Mature, Jayona Lee, Tasha Phillips,Jarubi Phillips,Damaya Elaina Mitchell,  Darrell Asher Jr.; and a host of great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her love and legacy.

Elaine’s legacy is one of love, compassion, strength, and family. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of caring for others. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Forever remembered.
