Dupree Russell Casey was born on September 26, 1967 to Larry Earl and Dorothy Marie Casey. Dupree was the youngest of 4 children (all boys).
The family moved to Portland, Oregon in November of 1969. He attended Jefferson High School and Job Corps. He worked at the Brasserie restaurant. He later went on to work in the Logistics Department at Dr. Martens in Portland, Oregon for 17 years. Dupree retired early due to his health issues.
Dupree was known to be a genuine, loving, kindhearted, caring person. He was family oriented, a man who constantly puts his family first. Dupree was very close to his mother; he was her backbone.
Dupree enjoyed many activities, such as fishing, cooking, barbequing, gardening and getting his daily walks in. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, celebrations, and parties. Dupree’s favorite places to fish were the Snake River, Swan Island and Silver Lake in Washington. He did not leave many fish often for others to catch. He would cook lip smacking ribs for family gatherings. Dupree was proud of his garden. Dupree and his brother, Darryl would be in competition over who grew the biggest veggies.
He leaves to mourn; mother, Dorothy; 3 brothers and sisters-in-laws, Darryl and Lynn Phelps, Michael “Andre” Phelps, and Larry Earl Casey Jr. and Teresa Asselin; his longtime companion, Charlene Scott and her 4 children Diondra, Shakkia, Anthony, Brian and 4 grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
