November 8, 1942 ~ April 21, 2020 (age 77)

Dorothy Mae (Sanders) Holloway was born November 8, 1942, in Tuskegee, Alabama to Iwilder Sanders and Ed Sanders Sr. She was one of nine children and attended Washington Pipeline School. She moved to Portland, Oregon in 1958 where she attended Jefferson High School.

Dorothy wed Ray L. McGee February 17, 1961, to their beloved union had Remona (Mona) McGee November 17, 1975.

Dorothy married Oscar Holloway November 22, 1989, until his passing January 4, 2012.

She had been employed with Western Electronic Company, Del Monte and Steinfield. She later retired from Portland School District in 1988.

Dorothy found the Lord early in her life and attended Hughes Memorial Methodist Church for many years. She later attended True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.

Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed entertaining with food, music (Blues), dancing, Dominos (Bones) and cards with family and friends. She loved to take road trips to the Casino with her sisters and daughter laughing and partying all the way there and back.

Back in her day she enjoyed a cruise up and down Union Avenue, today, known as MLK Jr. Blvd. with the windows down showing off her fresh new hairdo. Laughter was medicine for her and although she was no nonsense, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Proceeding her in death is her husband Oscar C. Holloway; mother, Iwilder Sanders and father, Ed Sanders; brothers: Ed Sanders Jr. and Theodis Sanders.

Dorothy was survived by her only beloved daughter, Remona (Mona) McGee; Sisters: Betty Jean Long, Mildred Barker, Nellie Crockett, Maggie Wright, Ruby St.Clair, Rachel Hanson and Grover Sanders, Grandchildren: LaShawn Williams and Kamron Smith; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
