Dimitri Andreaus Shephard Flippen

Dimitri Shephard Flippen was born on May 1, 1983, to Latanya Denise Shephard and Kenneth Wayne Flippen. He was the first-born child of both parents, becoming the eldest of eight children. Dimitri was born with a joyous spirit and was rarely without a smile on his face. He was friendly with everyone and never passed judgement on them, knowing that he was the embodiment of imperfect perfection.

Dimitri was a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a husband, and a friend to many. He would tell you that his most important role was being a father to his four beautiful children. Laniya, the oldest of his children, describes her father as being her best friend and always there to listen when she was in need. Rashaad, his oldest son, embodies his father’s caring and protective nature, always making sure that his siblings are safe and taken care of. Dee Jr. (Mookie), his youngest, shares his father’s love of video games and sports, excelling in basketball and golf at such a young age. He loved his second daughter, Jada, and was looking forward to spending more time with her. Dimitri never missed an opportunity to praise the mothers of his children, Jashanna Wilson, and Tiyonna Shephard. He admired them for their strength in raising their children and ensuring their happiness.

Dimitri would want his family to say that he was known for his beautiful vocals. However, we all know that was NOT the talent that God gave to him! Nevertheless, you could count on Dimitri to serenade you with a Boyz II Men song or randomly start dancing to whatever song was in his head. He was known for his hearty and infectious laughter, most often heard when he was roasting someone. We all know, if Dimitri took the time to roast you, that meant he TRULY loved you. Dimitri showed love to everyone in countless ways with a joy that was everlasting.

Dimitri leaves behind the following to cherish his memories: his parents, Latanya and Kenneth (Charleta); his wife, Tiyonna Shephard; his mother-in-law Gloria Richards; his children, Laniya, Jada, Rashaad, and Dimitri Jr.; his grandparents, Gwendolyn Faye (Leonard) and William “Mr. Chambers” (Rhonda); his aunties and uncle, Brenda, Cathy, Debra, and Pat Flippen, William II (Janice), Renae, and Yvette Shephard; his siblings, Chloe, Kennar, Kiana (Willie), KJ, Quinton, Sydney, Kemon, and Torin; his nephews, Willie, Khari, and Kennar Jr.; his best friends, Craig and Chuck; and a great number of cousins from both the Shephard and Flippen families.
