Delmia Brooks was born November 15, 1967 in Portland, Oregon to Evelyn Goldsby and Eugene Brooks.
Delmia accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Reverend E. C. Wilder of St. Mark Baptist Church. Delmia later joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend James C. E. Faulkner. Delmia held the position of President of the Nurse Corp. and worked with the Hospitality Committee, being famous for her work in the Kitchen.
Delmia attended Roosevelt High School and later joined the Job Corp at Tongue Point where she graduated and received her GED. After returning home she enrolled in Concord Institute where she received her Certificate in Health Care, later becoming an instructor.
She was a long-time resident of the New Columbia Community. She took pride in being involved with the community, helping to develop the Neighborhood Garden and the Community Food Bank. Delmia was the Events Coordinator at New Columbia and she was a Local Chef/Master in the kitchen.
Delmia was preceded in death; by her sister Erica D. Brooks and her father Eugene C. Brooks. She leaves to cherish her memory her Mother: Evelyn E. Goldsby. Two Sons: Jesse Raydell Talton and Davontae A. Moore. Brothers: Dustin E. C. Brooks Sr., Curtis Ross, and Earl (Dino) Grier. One Sister: Mykie Brooks, Nieces: Elise L. Howard, Alexa Brooks and Jada Ross. Nephews: Antjuan Hammick, Dylan Cayson, Gage Brooks, Curtis Brooks and Dustin Brooks Jr. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors.
