On May 5, 1957, the atmosphere shifted and the stars were realigned as one of the most phenomenal human beings, Deborah Elaine Williams, was born to Muriel and Boyce Williams, Sr.
This beautiful black rose created by God was born, raised and lived her entire life in Portland, Oregon. She was a pillar of the community and a beacon of light to everyone she came into contact with.
Ms. Debbie dedicated nearly 5 decades serving her beloved city through parks and recreation. She was a humble servant as an usher for her church home, yet her true ministry was through her soul stirring and mouth-watering pound cakes. Her positive energy, bright smile and resilient spirit had a lasting effect on everyone that crossed her path.
In the words of Debbie, “Take care of yourself, I love you baby…bye bye”.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Muriel and Boyce Williams, and her brother, Lawrence Williams. She is survived by her three sons, Aaron Williams, Austin Harris, and Avery Harris; siblings, Josephine Williams, Gregory (Danielle) Raines, Boyce Williams Jr, Geryld (Debbie) Williams, and Jethyl (Dorothy) Williams; her grandchildren, Dezariah Becker and Royce Lee King; as well as a host of family and friends.
