David Todd Duke (Daniels) transitioned to eternity on Friday, August 19, 2022, surrounded by his family and wrapped in love and prayer.
David was born on June 1, 1961, in Portland Oregon to Jessie Marie Daniels and Clarence Stanton Duke. David attended schools in Portland and was a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School (Demos) where he excelled athletically on the Varsity Basketball team. He went on to attend local colleges and demonstrated a lifelong love of learning. Throughout his life, David chose employment and volunteerism focused on helping others, and used his life experiences and knowledge to mentor, empower, and uplift the people around him.
David married Cassandra Pittman (Duke) and from this union they had three sons.
David was a faithful member of Daniels Memorial Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C) for his entire life. He dedicated his life to Christ at a young age and consistently maintained a presence within the church and in the lives of his church family. He held various roles at Daniels Memorial C.O.G.I.C including Choir Director, Sunday School Instructor, Security, and Choir member.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Clarence Stanton Duke, mother, Jessie Marie Daniels, son, Stanton Duke, brother Thomas Kevin Mack and close cousins Denise Williams (Nuffy), Keith Williams, and Jessie Jackson-Green.
He is survived by his siblings: Glenn E. Williams Jr. (Melinda), E. Scott Williams (Cinna'Mon), Brandon Duke (Monika), Brent Duke (Laurie), Mathew Randol, Beverly Duke, Tamala Newsome (Karl), Paige Williams-Wake (Brian), Octavia Morris (Marion), sons: David Duke II, Michael Duke, Jamison Duke, daughters: Tiera Williams (Jodie), Karmen Morrison, Tiffany Archer (Jordan), Ashleigh Duke, N'Tesha Mayfield, twelve grandchildren that he loved and adored and a host of close aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
