Danny Cordell Wilson, born on December 15th, 1960, in Portland, Oregon, to Athren K. Wilson Sr. and Jimmy L Wilson, passed away March 30th, 2024. During his childhood, Danny attended Woodlawn Elementary and Grant High School, where he excelled in basketball, football, and track. Beyond sports, Danny had a deep passion for art and music, showcasing his talents as a renowned artist and bass player, who inspired recording artists such as Jeff Lorber, Kenny G, and Dennis Bradford.
Known affectionately as "bass-man," Danny's dedication to his craft was unmatched, spending countless hours perfecting his music. His warm and loving nature endeared him to all who knew him, often bringing joy with his infectious laughter and his own brand of humor.
Danny's love extended deeply to his family, leaving behind cherished memories with his brother Bill Maxie, (Lisa Maxie) sister Charlotte Martin, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Athren K. Wilson Sr. and Jimmie Wilson-Parker, sister Sarah Cole, and brothers Athren Wilson, Roy Maxie, great-nephew, Serjio Hunt Jr. and Great-niece Alexy Maxie.
In celebrating Danny's life, let us remember the laughter he shared, the music he created, and the love he bestowed upon all. He will forever remain in our hearts as a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
