Cornell Hamlin Jr. was born August 16, 1977 to the late Cornell Hamlin Sr. and Alberta Lynn Hamlin of Compton, CA.
Cornell attended Monroe Elementary School and graduated from David Star Jordan High School in Longbeach, CA. As an adult, he workedseveral different jobs, and he greatly enjoyed his family time.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age on August 4, 1990 at Greater Emmanuel Temple by the late Pastor Carl Stewart in Lynnwood, CA. He was raised in a Christian family, his grandmother Barbara J. Bell is an evangelist, teacher, and a wonderful grandmother.
When Cornell learned how to drive, you knew he was around by his loud music and love of cars. As the years grew, Cornell decided it was time to start a family of his own. He introduced to the world a baby girl, Precious Alexandria Hamlin on September 24, 1998 and she sadly preceded him in death on November 18, 1998.
Cornell Hamlin was the 2nd of 3 children and the only male in his immediate family. He met Jeannetta Holmes, his soulmate, in July of 2015. They greatly enjoyed each other’s company, and Cornell asked Jeannetta to marry him in May of 2016.
Cornell was a caring, loving, genuine person that loved hard. He would give you his last, and he is a gigantic loss for our family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cornell Hamlin, Sr; Grandmother, Estella Marie Hamlin; Grandfathers, Lou Charles Hamlin, John L. Bell, and Albert Byone; great grandmothers, Mary Byone and Mable Davis, and his baby girl, Precious Alexandria Hamlin.
He leaves to mourn, his mother, Alberta Lynn Hamlin; Sisters, Laveshia and Estella; Fiancé, Jeannetta Holmes; nieces, Jasmine and Leah; nephews, Levi, King, Jeremiah and Kristen; Brother-in-law, Gregory; grandmother, Barbara J. Bell, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
