Chris Smith was born April 27, 1968 to the proud parents of Arthur Mae Smith and Robert W Fulmer both who preceded him in death. Chris was a very energetic and smart young boy he grew up in William/Walker Temple Church of God in Christ where he made lifelong friends. Chris attended Boise Elliot Elementary School, he graduated from Jefferson High School class of 1986.
After taking a year off, he enrolled and graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in computer technology, he then worked for 12 years at Freightliner. After schooling was completed, Chris and longtime girlfriend welcomed their first daughter, Jazmyn Smith on September 14, 1991 and soon after another daughter, Christal Smith, was born July 29, 1992, with Shalonda Jenkins. In 1993, Chris met his life partner Karen S Bridges (who preceded him in death) and together they welcomed his youngest daughter, Taliyah R. Smith, born March 14, 1997. He spent the rest of his life with Karen raising their five children.
To know Chris was to love Chris; He was always the life of any gathering; full of laughter and jokes. Chris valued and cherished all his family and close friends, he never turned anyone away who needed him. Chris had a passion for making music, family cookouts, and spending time with his grandkids. He also stepped into the role of being a father figure to his five nieces and nephews and all of the family who needed his guidance at that time, and he was always there to pick you up when you’re down and help you get through any obstacles in the way.
Chris was LOVED! He will be missed deeply. He will be remembered by his many compliments, his BBQ, his jokes, and his annoying 3a.m. phone calls.
Chris leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Rolunda and Vanessa Fulmer of Portland, OR; two brothers, Marcel and Anthony Fulmer of Portland, OR; one sister preceding him in death; three daughters, Taliyah, Jazmyn (& life partner Tiffany), and Christal Smith of Portland, OR; two sons, Teal and Jeray of Portland, OR; one godmother, Becky Maloney of Portland, OR;
