Charlie James Hale was born December 26, 1957 in Portland, Oregon to Glenn and Ora Nell Hale. He was the oldest son out of four children; Glenda, Cynthia and Glenn Ronald Hale. He was baptized by the late Rev. Sylvester McCullumn of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Charlie attended Humboldt Elementary School, Gregory Heights and graduated from Lincoln High School, where he lettered in track and field. He was employed as a maintenance worker at the Holiday Inn, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, and Adidas.
Charlie was a Chef in his own right. He made the best pizza-burgers and fries. He was also never short of a good joke. Charlie enjoyed watching football and basketball, he was definitely a Blazer fan. In his youth, he played baseball for coach Proby’s Pancake Corner baseball team. He also enjoyed traveling down south to visit his family in Alabama. He would also spend endless hours detailing his cars.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Ora Nell Hale; and brother, Glenn Ronald Hale. He leaves to celebrate his life his sisters, Glenda (Joseph) Mills and Cynthia Hale; Two nephews, seven nieces and a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
