Charlie Mae Bradford was born in Waco, Texas on July 6, 1933 to Charles and Tilla Howard. Charlie Mae lost her mother at a young age and her three older brothers stepped in to help raise her. Together they moved to Oregon, where they settled in the old Van Port community.
While attending Roosevelt High School, she met and later married Robert Bradford in 1949. Over the course of 72 happy years of marriage with one another, Robert and Charlie Mae had six children, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Charlie Mae was gifted with many talents. She worked at a bakery, cannery, various customer service positions, and provided child care for working parents in her community. She also had a passion for music - she loved to sing, play the drums, and the piano. She passed along her knowledge and passion for the piano for many years, teaching others how to play.
Charlie Mae was a kind, loving, and strong spirited woman. She loved to laugh and have a good time no matter where she was or who she was with.
When she saw you, she always greeted you with a smile and wanted to know how you were doing. If there was anything she could do to help others she would without expecting anything in return. She was the heart of her family and was known to those that loved her as “mom” and to others as “Mother Bradford”.
Charlie Mae is predeceased by her son, Robert Bradford Jr and her daughter, Emma Bradford.
Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband, Robert L. Bradford Sr; daughter, Vickie Harris; sons, Dennis Bradford (wife, Mami), William Bradford (wife, Debbie), and David Bradford (wife, Heidi).
She will be dearly missed.
